2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata Release Date
As one of the most iconic roadsters on the market, the Mazda Miata has received numerous refinements and improvements for its upcoming 2019 model year. And to help you prepare for the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata release date, we are sharing details on the upgraded powertrain and available safety features.
The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata will go on sale fall 2018 in the United States.
2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata is equipped with a SKYACTIV®-G 2.0-Liter engine which features enhanced response, performance, efficiency and driving experience. The engine delivers a 17% improvement with 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, with an increased rev range from 6,800 rpm to 7,500 rpm. By reducing internal mass, friction, exhaust loss and improving combustion for better efficiency, the 2019 Miata has an overall enriched performance with a quicker, more responsive and engaging drive. There is also a new exhaust system that delivers a richer sound quality.
Added Features to the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata
The 2019 MX-5 Miata will now feature a standard rearview camera and will have more available driver-assistive technologies, including Traffic Sign Recognition and Smart City Brake Support. And with the addition of the new features, the Miata gains around 7 pounds compared to the previous models, which adheres to Mazda’s “Gram Strategy,” like replacing the steel steering shaft to an aluminum one. Plus, just like how the 2018 model year featured the new Dark Cherry soft top, the 2019 version will have the option for a brown canvas soft top; as well as new black metallic 17-inch wheels, telescoping steering wheel, easier-to-open doors and revised door stops, cup holders and seat levers.
