We are very pleased to have Anthony on our team of technicians at Hickory Mazda Mitsubishi. Anthony has worked with our dealership for over two years and brings a wealth of knowledge.
“I’ve always worked on cars. Since I was young I’ve been interested in all things automotive. I work on all my own vehicles. Right now, I have a 4-wheel drive Jeep. I’m from Catawba which has some great trails to go 4-wheeling on. There’s always a good group of people out there.
I also have a 1985 Ford Mustang that I am restoring. I’ve already rebuilt the engine, it’s got a 351 Windsor. Now I’m working on the body so I can get ready to paint. There’s a few more dents to remove. I think I’m going to choose Ford’s Grabber blue for the exterior color,” says Anthony.
When asked what keeps his interest in the automotive industry, Anthony said “it would be boring if things stayed the same all the time, but technology is always evolving so that you are always learning and perfecting your skills.”
Ed Thompson our Service Manager, said of Anthony, “He is a brilliant technician. What impresses me about Anthony is that he is basically self taught, yet one of our most knowledgeable technicians when compared to others that have been in the industry for years. He is very smart and very humble about his knowledge.”
We are very pleased to have Edward Thompson in the position of Service Manager. Edward brings 20 years of automotive management experience. He attended The University of South Carolina where he majored in business. From there he has worked at a variety of dealerships honing his skill as a Service Manager. “I love what I do because it involves helping people who at times are in very frustrating situations with their vehicles. Being able to solve a customers vehicle issues and get them back on the road is very rewarding,” notes Edward.
Edward says that his first car was a 1980 Corvette, “I really enjoyed that car, wish I would have kept it longer. I had some good times driving around in it.”
While our Service department services all makes and models we do sell new Mazda and Mitsubishi models. Edward says, “Mazda and Mitsubishi’s are very good cars. We see a lot less issues with them then some of the other brands we work on. We recommend that customers follow the maintenance guidelines we provide them. With a good maintenance routine an owner can get a lot of years out of their vehicle.
I want our customers to know that I am a stickler for customer service. I know from personal experience if I go somewhere and get treated bad I don’t like it. We strive to treat our customers how we would like to be treated. I am always available to talk to a customer. If there are ever any issues not addressed please let me know! This is the best group of technicians and service advisors that I have had the pleasure to work with.”
