2019 Mazda CX-5 vs 2019 Nissan Rogue

2019 Mazda CX-5 vs 2019 Nissan Rogue

The CX-5 has returned for the 2019 model year, once again claiming the title of the best-selling Mazda model. It’s not just famous around the Mazda community. Drivers everywhere are starting to take notice of the comfort and convenience features offered by the CX-5 along with the surprisingly low MSRP. It compares favorably even against some of the top luxury automakers, but today we’re going to see how it stacks up against another big-name Japanese automaker. Check out this comparison between the 2019 Mazda CX-5 vs 2019 Nissan Rogue!

The CX-5 is a great choice due to the variety you’ll get from it. Coming in five different trim levels (Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature), the CX-5 can cater to any lifestyle. The Sport trim is the best option for drivers on a budget while the Signature is the ideal choice for a driver seeking maximum luxury. See how these two compare in the table below!

Specs and Features in the 2019 CX-5

From the comparisons above, it probably looks like the CX-5 and Rogue are essentially the same. That makes sense given that they offer about the same MSRP, engine, infotainment screen size and the fact that they both come in five trim levels. However, the CX-5 wins under the hood as its base model has more power (187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque) than the 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque in the Rogue. All that comes with almost the same fuel efficiency. Unfortunately for Rogue fans, those numbers are the only options for performance. While it has five trim levels to choose from, the Rogue offers the same engine across all five of them. Mazda offers a larger turbocharged engine in the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trims for an outstanding 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, which gives you a better engine response as well as a greater towing capacity than the Rogue.
